Ann and Jack chose the fabulous Gildings Farm for their Surrey barn wedding in June. They are both pilots (I know, right?) for and currently clive in Italy (yep, it does get even better), but couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else than their home country. Travelling to and from Gatwick on a regular basis it seemed very fitting that the venue was only 6 miles from the airport!
They had in fact legally married the day before in a nearby registry office, which made it possible for them to have the most wonderful humanist ceremony I’ve ever witnessed. Zena Birch had created a brilliantly personal and humourous ceremony, with a lot of input from Ann and Jack, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an alternative wedding ceremony in Sussex or Surrey.
In truly un-British form, the weather was glorious! The guests enjoyed outdoor hay bale seating, canapés in the sunshine, and the barn had been fully decorated by them both and their families and it looked amazing. They’d even driven from Italy for the wedding so that they could enjoy and share their favourite Italian wines on the day. The day was topped off by some classic ‘dad dancing’ by all, and a beautiful sunset. Who could ask for anything more?
