Martyn and Rebecca are great advocates for ‘loving local’, selecting only local suppliers to work with (myself included) and choosing to have a Court Garden Vineyard wedding. The vineyard is a lovely wedding venue located in Ditching, which was only 1 mile away (and a walk across a field) from their home!
Their ceremony was held at the Unitarian Church also in Ditching, a gorgeous tiny church located along the Twitten pathway. The ceremony was full of laughter and even featured a surprise poem written by Rebecca.
The whole wedding was bursting with personal touches, the most spectacular being the epic cake stand that was made by Martyn’s dad (as well as all of the table plans, letter box and signage around the venue). The delicious cakes were also handmade by their family and friends. The barn was decorated beautifully by themselves the day before with thousands of fairy lights and bunting.
Court Garden Farm is an award winning vineyard, famous for its sparking wines, but also producing tasty white Chardonnay/Pinot Gris and red Pinot Noir wines- which of course took pride of place on the reception tables.
Something you can never rely on is the weather, and despite the rain everyones spirits remained high and full of energy, especially during the speeches. Rebecca’s dad was a fabulous quiz master, and had everyone competing for bonus points by giving the best animal impression. As you can see below, one team (and one guest in particular) rose to the challenge with a very passionate chicken impression!! And rightly won!
The evening entertainment was the brilliant Sussex based ceilidh band ‘Unreel’, which got everyone up onto their feet dancing the night away. There’s nothing worse than an empty dance floor, so if you want to find a way of getting your guests of all ages on the dance floor, a ceilidh is the way to do this!
The flowers were supplied by the fabulous Ditchling based Florist Poison Ivy
I also live in Ditching, so if you are planning to have a Court Garden Vineyard Wedding please do get in touch on 07736 466004 or info@old-jennifersmithphotography.co.uk.
Best wishes for the future Martyn and Rebecca!
This has to be one of the best ‘first look’ responses from the mother of the bride!
The moment Rebecca’s surprise poem was read at the wedding… featuring ‘wind’ jokes about Martyn!
The epic cake stand handmade by Martyn’s dad, and the cakes made by their family and friends.
“The team that does the best animal impression wins”- this guy rose to the challenge with the best ever chicken impression!! Competitive much?!!! Ha ha.
