Laura & Jez ~ Brighton Engagement Photo Shoot

Laura and Jez eyes met over the glamorous work cubicles at Brighton Council 7 years ago, and despite now living (a more glamorous life) in London they felt it only fitting to have a Brighton engagement photo shoot. And what a day they chose for it! The sun was shining, the beach was packed, and we weaved in and out of the crowds to find any slightly more secluded spots amongst the masses for their photos. When they booked me, they specifically said that what they loved about my style is that it is ‘natural, full of laughter, and has no cheese’! Those certainly are the 3 main factors that I strive to achieve in my photography style, and I feel that these Brighton engagement shoot photos further emphasise that. They had a great time, as we chatted and played some photography word games to help them feel more relaxed, and it also helped that Laura has the most fabulous huge smile- one of my favourite qualities in a person!

The area that I love the most along the otherwise very commercial Brighton seafront is the Fishermans Quarter. An area of lovely red brick arches, containing a small Fishing Museum, a cafe, and best of all Jack and Linda’s Fish Smokers– serving the freshest smoked fish sandwiches in the city. Directly opposite the arches on the beach itself is a tiny black hut, which is Jack and Linda’s very own smoke house, only meters from the sea and their sandwich shop. So after enjoying the chilly sea between their toes at the beginning of the shoot we headed along to the Fishermans Quarter for the end, and it was certainly worth the walk as the rest brick and old fashioned shop signs are a lovely contrast to the sky blue photos I feel.

Laura and Jez got married in Brighton as well, choosing the historic Chamber Room at Brighton Town Hall for the ceremony, followed by a short stroll with all of their guests through the narrow alleyways that lead from the Town Hall (starting next to the Black Lion pub) and end at their reception venue, The Coach House on Middle Street.
