This week I met up with the lovely Hannah and Craig for their pre-wedding Stanmer Park photo shoot.
It’s feels as though autumn has well and truly arrived. This week has been so cold that I had to dig out my oversized scarf from the back of the wardrobe. However, I do love the changing colours of the trees and the Sussex countryside. So when we were choosing a location for Hannah and Craig’s pre-wedding shoot, Stanmer Park seemed like the perfect choice. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular with dog walkers and families, but it’s also big enough to find a quiet spot for taking photos.
As expected, Hannah and Craig (well Craig in particular!) were feeling a bit nervous about having their photo taken at first. But they are such a wonderfully happy couple that within minutes they were laughing and joking away together. The result was exactly what makes a great photograph in my option- lots of relaxed natural smiles and laughter. In their own words they are not a particularly ‘soppy couple’, but by the end of the shoot they were noticeably more relaxed and affectionate. And I’m sure on their wedding day they won’t be able to get enough of each other!
My recommendation to couples wondering how to get the best possible photos of their wedding day, is just to focus on having as much fun as possible. Of course a great location and setting play a part, but it’s the emotion and laughter thats the most important. After their Stanmer Park photo shoot I’ve no doubt that Hannah and Craig’s wedding day will be full of laughter. They are having a HUGE winter wedding day before Christmas, and I can’t wait!
