What a delight it was to capture this Eastbourne Gildredge Manor wedding last summer. It was certainly a highlight of my wedding season, despite being very heavily pregnant at the time! Gildredge Manor is a hidden gem in Sussex, it’s a beautifully restored Georgian Manor House, which a few years ago was completely derelict after years of neglect.
You have total exclusivity of the manor on your wedding day, and it has a variety of rooms to keep your guests entertained, included a games room, a dark panelled Gentlemen’s Library, the Long Gallery for the wedding breakfast, and the ceremony is held in a light filled Garden Room. It’s very rare to have so much space in a venue in Sussex, and each are beautifully decorated. The food was also amazing, it really is worth considering having an Eastbourne Gildredge Manor wedding if you are holding out for a ‘big’ wedding once this year is over.
I’m really enjoying looking back over last summers weddings. What a blissful time it was, before the awful Covid put a stop to big wedding celebrations. My heart goes out to all of the couples affected by Covid this year, and all of my couple chose to move their wedding to next year. But it is a worry as to whether things will be ‘back to normal’ next year. If restrictions are still in place my hope is that couples still go ahead with their wedding, and you can still have an amazing day having a ‘Micro Wedding’ instead with just your very nearest and dearest by your side.
Did you go ahead with your wedding this year? I’m planning on researching some venue options for couples planning a Micro Wedding, so if you have any recommendations please leave a comment in the blog below!
If you are looking for other venues in Eastbourne, the Ocean Suites on Eastbourne Pier is another great option.
