I first met Janis and Dennis six years ago when they contacted me to say they were coming on holiday to the UK from Hong Kong, and wanted to book me for their engagement shoot. Janis grew up in a boarding school in Devon and returns every few years to visit her old school friends and teachers. So I was absolutely delighted when they contacted me again last month to say they were coming over for another holiday, and because they’d loved the previous photos so much they wanted to book me for another fun Brighton photography shoot.
The first time we met they told me that in Hong Kong engagement shoots are a REALLY big deal, and they’d already had one in HK Disneyland but didn’t really like the photos, as so many of their friends had exactly the same shots and they wanted something different. When we met this time they said that those old photos hang proudly on their apartment wall, and they receive regular compliments about them! It’s so lovely to know that years after taking the shots they still bring Janis and Dennis so much happiness. As a photographer you don’t always see or speak to a couple again after you’ve shot their engagement or wedding, let alone meet up years later for another shoot, it really was a treat and so much fun. They are natural posers and just play around together whilst I snap away. Janis was wearing her favourite dress, which she proudly swished side to side on the bandstand! Dennis also asked if I could capture his ‘jump kick’ in front of the carousel- but I wasn’t quite expecting such an impressive height!!!
I look forwarded to seeing you both again in six years for another fun Brighton photography shoot Janis and Dennis! 🙂
